First established in 1969 Wansa Group began as a family trading office in Monrovia Liberia. Over the next two decades, the group expanded into Sierra Leone, Gambia and The Republic of Guinea as a leading commodities trader in the region.

In 2005 Wansa Group Commodities was incorporated to consolidate the various trading activities and relocated to London which is where the head office is now located.
